Happy to hear your good news; the same is true for me. I'm hoping the worst is over for those of us who have taken up the battle.
Just a reminder for those who are new to the sb invasion: I have prepared a document that will…"
"We are still using Demand CS with great results. I'm not seeing any yet, but this is the week they have been swarming for the past few years.
After we sprayed, we had a major rain event (six + inches over a few days), here in SCentral…"
"Hello folks - I hope everyone has had a wonderful, stinkbug free summer.
However: for those of you who are new(er) to this site, it's time to plan for your fall, and most important spraying. We will be doing ours this weekend. …"
"Hey TM - Nice to hear from you too. In an attempt to keep up with the latest info regarding sbs, I was doing a bit of research and found this product comparision. I was actually looking for a comparison of Cyzmic CS and Demand CS and…"
"Hello all - On a local newscast, a researcher just asked for folks to send him their live stinkbugs. I'm happy to report that I don't have any to send to him. He said a virus appears to have killed all of his test…"
"I'm not sure about the rest of you, but it appears this year's stink bug swarm is about over. Altogether, I saw about five. As I have mentioned several times before, that compares to thousands the first year. I think our…"
"Do you have a ceiling light in your bedroom? If you do, they can move from an attic area or in the walls, out through a ceiling light. I used clear acrylic caulk in a tube around the edge of the ceiling light (I am careful not to leave…"
"Hi Joe - Penn State seems to be giving the 'early days' advice. I've been spraying for quite a few years and the carpet beetles have not been a problem. They also don't seem to have any knowledge about the products…"
"Well, the corn is being harvested, the weather is warm and the sbs are on the move.
I was out and about for a quick lunch and one of the beasties landed on the passenger side windshield of my car. He somehow managed to cast a triple shadow…"
"I don't know if you are serious Lane, but sending them a few pictures might be a good idea and show them how big the problem really is. The same is true for anyone else who has a major swarming problem this fall.
Any folks who are fairly…"
"Unbelievable, Joe. That just shows how in touch they actually are with the problem (Not)
Do you think they have contacted the farmers to count the ones in the fields and orchards? Maybe they will be asking us to tag and release them next."
It is good that we all communicate with each other because, I have not seen one in my immediate house since spraying from mid-August and my fibnal spraying was last week, only one in my open garage...I would have doubted myself had I been the only one to do it thinking they are coming no matter what...BUT, I think we need to stay in touch throughout the winter and the dreaded spring to see if it really did the job...But so far, so good.
It looks like we are some of the lone voices in the wilderness regarding treatment of these things. It is unfortunately too late for this year because they are slowing down tremendously not. With the warmth of this week the swarming was at a minimum which means they are hunkering down for the winter. Hopefully not in our houses.
