Early September Stinkbug Swarm

These are pictures of the outside of our house in early September in Hockessin, Delaware. We had 4 of these swarms. Notice that all the windows are casement, so when you have them open the stinkbugs get trapped in your house between the window and the screen.

I also have good windows and get few in the house.  I expect I do have them in the attic but hope it will get cold enough to kill them.

I have not used pesticides yet but would be interested in what works.  They decimated my tomatoes.

My weapons of choice have been Rescue Traps, hand catching and a garden propane torch from

http://www.flameengineering.com/Weed_Dragon.html outdoors and catching and dumping into a bottle of alcohol indoors.

I will say that because we replaced all our windows last winter that our stinkbug problem in the house has dramatically been reduced.  Also I am hoping that the stinkbugs are moving out of DE.  After the 4 really bad swarms we have been "lucky" to have very few stinkbugs compared to previous years.  These fall I am only catching about 1 stinkbug a day.  This is down from about 500+ a day before we had our windows replaced.

End stink bug infestation in your house. Learn how to control, kill, and get rid of brown marmorated stink bugs.
