Not necessarily a correlation between the egg clusters you found in the window and the stinkbugs you found in the house. Stinkbugs lay on live leaves as the hatchlings need a food/water source when they hatch. No known egg clusters in houses that we are aware of. Probably eggs from other type of bug. You're allowed to kill them too ;<)

Demand CS is definitely the chemical of choice around here and can be used inside. READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USE. This is a commercial product and not necessarily recommended for use by homeowners. There is a lot of information about Demand CS on this site. Demand CS is a broad spectrum insecticide so it will take care of just about any bug that is trying to invade your house.

Well right above the curtains the roof is starting to rot out from that window that was busted out. The wood is wet and rotting and a lot of the eggs were also on the wood around that spot, the rest of the eggs were only on the curtains directly under the rotting wood so I don't know if that could be considered a food/water source for these bugs but I know the pictures I found were identical to the eggs I found on the curtains/wood in the porch. Mind this is an unheated enclosed porch not inside the actual house where I found the bugs and it was previously open to the elements.

I live in NY, and two winters ago was the first time I ever saw one of them. I almost had a heart attack when I first saw one. It has to have been the biggest, scariest bug I've ever seen, and it was in MY house. My family didn't believe me when i told them i saw this freaky brown pentagonal robot bug in my room and I was living my life in fear of them. Eventually, as the winter got colder, more and more started to appear, and the rest of my family realized they were real. They started showing up all of the time and we were infested. Now, I don't kill bugs, but these things are so scary I've considered it and the only reason I haven't is because I'm terrified to get close enough to touch one. None of my neighbors have ever said anything about infestations, but that could be because they're embarrassed to have these prehistoric looking monsters in their home, as we are. I have to make a fortress out of sheets and pillows when i go to sleep in the winter to keep them away from me, and they crawl on my parent's pillows at night they say. I'm fed up with these nasty things and want them out.

I have no clue where they come in to the house from and no idea where they breed of how to get rid of them. I've read that they come in during the winter looking for warmth, and that makes sense. During my research, I just came across this website and thought it was a great idea, and even a little bit funny that there's an army of people out there trying to stop them. I'm glad we're not alone in this fight. I really just want to get rid of them, they're so scary. I found them by looking up "creepy brown pentagonal bugs" on Google, and was horrified when I found out they're stink bugs! My brother had told me they smelled like cucumbers when you killed them, but I guess we're lucky, because they never smell up the house. I've seen some of the pictures up on this site, and I guess we have nothing compared to others, but I'm afraid to even think of how many there may be in the attic... and if they are up there, I don't even want to know. I just want them all to die.

In the words of a fellow stink bug soldier, KILL THEM ALL

April 30, 2012:  -  I live on the VA / NC border.  I saw my 1st stinkbug in June '10(1 or 2 on my moms front porch or in cars).  I moved into my current apt. in Feb. '11 and have been at war.  As another said "I've never lived with roaches".  Since I was a teen, I kill a fly within 5 mins of seeing it.  This is the 1st bug that creeps the jeets out of me.  Roaches are easily controlled(I've never had to live with them), but SBs!!  Initially when I'd come home at night I'd see them in my kitchen on/by my glass sliding doors, one or two in the living room as well as in my bedroom. CREEPED ME OUT!!  I sprayed them with Raid Max, they'd limp away after trying to fly(I guess opening their wings exposes the body to the spray).  I bought Raid Max Scorpion & Spider & would spray them with the combination of the two.  They would fall but the next morning though still on their back, they were turned in a different direction. I went to Vegas & there were probably 15-20 on their backs by the sliding glass doors where I'd sprayed with the combination of the two.  I never opened my windows & stopped seeing them in my living room(adjoining my kitchen). I bought 3 cans of spray foam & sprayed around the sliding door of the frame(I figured the secured portion couldnt have cracks).  I started seeing them in my bedroom on the oposite side of my window so I figured they were coming from my walk in closet.  I spray foamed around the tubes coming from the hot water heater in the back going into the walls.  No more in my bedroom, but I now know they are in my walls and am sure I can hear them buzzing at times causing me to look around.

Superbowl weekend '12, I went to NY with family, got back 5-8 dead by my sliding doors.  I sprayfoamed the entire door frame and metal cover strip at the floor.  If 1 is in a place I dont want to spray I will kill it with a sneaker or a regular flyswatter, pick it up with the flyswatter, flush it down the toilet.  I then spray the flyswatter, where I hit the SB & where it landed with Febreeze. I saw 1 on my bathroom floor on its back, I taped up the steam vent.  Thank GOD it seems they cant get through the central heat/air vents.  A week and a half ago, I saw one on its back on top of the hardened foam at the sliding doors.  I sprayed it with the combination spray.  The next morning it had slid down the hill of foam still on its back.  I dont know if it was one of the hundred or so I spray foamed over or if it came from a crack in one of the few cracks in the foam.

I dont see them in my apt on a daily basis anymore(not even a monthly basis) but I swear I hear them behind my head in the walls in my bedroom.  I recently bought land & plan to put a small mobile home up to get started.  I plan to fogg the entire place, seal inside & out, buy new windows & doors if necessary, whatever it takes.  I slept with every light on in my apt for 3 weeks when they were thriving(I simply had no idea where they were coming from).  My sleeping pattern is still very sporadic, where I will wake 2-3 hours after falling asleep not knowing why.  Subconciously, I am still on guard from these bugs Im sure.  I was an advocate for the human body NEEDS its 8 hrs of sleep nightly so that the body may naturally heal itself.  I would wake up after 8 hrs automatically.  I am shorter with people & go out alot less.  I would never sleep with the sun up.  I do now.  I hate it!!!  I hope it ends soon.  I will try the soap & water in a bucket somewhere on, or at the bottom of, my porch(when I get it).  I really am skeptical about it working though.  What makes Dawn more toxic to SBs than Raid Max mixed with Raid Max Scorpion & Spider??  I will also try the lavender(oil??) along with the poison powder.
